Privacy Policy

Who we are

The Village ("we", "our", or "us") is a membership community for mothers living in Thailand, operated by Socialground Company Limited, a company registered in Thailand. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

By using our website or services, you agree to this policy. If you don't agree, please don't use our services.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the community and manage your membership:

• Your Google account ID, used to log you in.
• Your phone number, used to connect you to our WhatsApp community and manage your access to member groups.
• Your name and email address, used to communicate with you about your account.

We do not collect sensitive personal information such as health data, religious beliefs, or biometric data.

How we use your information

We use your information to authenticate your identity, manage your membership and group access, verify your subscription status, and contact you about your account or service updates. That's it. We don't use your data for advertising, profiling, or anything beyond running The Village.

Community moderation

Messages posted in our community WhatsApp groups are processed by an automated system that flags content for human review against our Community Guidelines. The classifier looks at message content (text, images, and video frames) and the immediate conversation context. No automated decisions are taken on the basis of this processing alone, all moderation actions are reviewed by a human before being applied. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the community safe and preventing harm to members. You can object to this processing by emailing info@thevillage.mom, in which case the only remaining options are to continue with manual moderation in your case or to leave the community.

Who we share your information with

We don't sell or trade your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers, and only to the extent necessary to operate our services:

• Stripe, for payment processing. We never store your card details on our servers. See Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
• WhatsApp (via Whapi), for community group management.
• Google, for login authentication.
• Resend, for transactional emails related to your account.

Each provider is bound by their own privacy policies and data protection obligations.

Cross-border data transfer

Some of our service providers (Stripe, Google, Whapi, Resend, Sentry) are located outside Thailand. By creating an account you consent to your personal data being transferred to and processed in those jurisdictions, which may have different data protection standards. Each provider is contractually bound to protect your data and is itself subject to recognized data protection regimes (GDPR, UK DPA, or equivalent).

Consent

When you sign up, you affirmatively agree to this Privacy Policy and to the processing of your personal data as described here. We record the date and policy version of your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account from your dashboard, or by emailing info@thevillage.mom. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.

Data retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your membership is active. If you cancel your membership or request deletion of your data, we will delete or anonymize your information within 30 days, unless we are required by law to retain it longer.

Your rights

Under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and applicable laws, you have the right to access your personal data, request corrections to inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, withdraw consent for data processing, and request a copy of your data in a portable format.

You can exercise the right to access (export) your data and the right to erasure directly from your dashboard under "Account & Privacy". For all other requests, contact us at info@thevillage.mom. We will respond within 30 days.

Payment processing

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not have access to or store your full payment card details. For information on how Stripe handles your payment data, visit stripe.com/privacy.

Age restriction

Our services are for individuals 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make changes, we'll post the updated version on our website and update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll notify you via email or through the community.
