Classes in Bangkok

Baby and toddler classes in Bangkok. Swimming, gym, music and story time.

Bangkok has parent-and-baby swimming and gym classes from about 4 months, music classes from a few months old, and library story time for preschoolers. As of October 2026, the prices providers publish run from free story time for library members to a few hundred baht a session, and several places offer a trial. A weekly class also gets you out of the condo and talking to other adults, and seeing the same faces every week is how a lot of friendships start here. This guide covers what suits which age, where the classes are, and how to try one before you sign up.

What suits which age

  • 4 to 12 months. Parent-and-baby swimming and baby gym, which are mostly about you, your baby and some songs. Several swim schools and The Little Gym start at 4 months.
  • 1 to 2 years. More gym and swimming, plus the first music classes and playgroups.
  • 2 to 4 years. Story time, longer music programs, and classes where you start stepping back a little.

The ages below are the ones each school publishes. They’re the school’s guidance, not a rule.

Swimming

Bangkok has a lot of swim schools, and several teach in English, with parent-and-baby classes in a warm indoor pool.

  • Bangkok Dolphins. English-speaking instructors, an infant swim center on Sukhumvit Soi 39, and infant courses at other branches.
  • Lets Asia. Lessons in English and Japanese. Its Little Splasher course starts at 6 months.
  • Aqua-Tots Bangkok. In Thawi Watthana, from 4 months, in a heated indoor pool.
  • Bangkok Swim Academy. Its Mother and Baby program is for babies and toddlers from 4 months to 3 years.

When you call, ask about the pool temperature, the class size, and whether you’re in the water with your baby. Those three vary the most.

Gym and movement

  • The Little Gym. Parent-and-child classes from 4 months, in narrow age bands (for example 4 to 10 months, then 10 to 19 months). Branches on Sukhumvit Soi 55 in Thonglor, at EmQuartier, and at Central Rama 3.
  • Gymboree Play & Music. Play, music and art classes for ages 0 to 5, with branches across Bangkok including Sukhumvit Soi 49/9, Chidlom, Bang Na and Ramkhamhaeng.

Music

  • Kindermusik. Licensed studios run it in Bangkok, including Round Note Music on Sukhumvit Soi 31, which lists a weekday Kindermusik class for ages 1.5 to 2.5.
  • Music Together at Little Pea Kids Commons. At theCOMMONS on Thonglor Soi 17. Little Pea’s website lists Music Together classes for babies under 1 and for 0 to 4 years, at 650 baht a class (checked October 2026).

Story time and playgroups

  • Neilson Hays Library, Bang Rak. Story time on Saturdays at 10:30am, with crafts. The library’s website lists it as free for members and 200 baht for non-members (checked October 2026). It’s open Tuesday to Sunday, 9:30am to 5pm.
  • School playgroups. Some international schools run playgroups for children who aren’t enrolled yet. Heathfield International School’s Tiny Paws playgroup, for 6 months to 3 years, meets on Wednesdays with play, music and sensory activities. The school lists it at 350 baht a session (checked October 2026). Our international schools guide covers the schools themselves.
  • Hospital parent classes. Some private hospitals run classes for parents. Bumrungrad International’s website, for example, mentions classes for first-time parents on labor, delivery and newborn care.

Try a class before you sign up

Several of these places offer a trial. Going by their websites (checked October 2026), Bangkok Dolphins advertises a free trial, Lets Asia lists a paid trial at 700 baht, and The Little Gym offers an intro class. For the others, ask. A trial usually tells you more than the website does: how loud the room is, whether the teacher learns the kids’ names, and whether your child joins in. Book ahead, because weekend slots fill first.

Finding a class buddy

This guide is about classes. For free play, our post on indoor playgrounds in Bangkok has one mom’s picks.

A class is easier with someone you know in it. In The Village, moms post in the Playdates group when they’re trying a new class or looking for someone to split a term with, and a lot of weekday plans start there. Our playdates guide has more on meeting other families.

A class is better with a friend in it.
